Katjang beans and mung beans as single feed for birds
Mung beans as bird food
Dried beans are very hard and are not readily eaten by most bird species, especially small species such as budgies.
Mung beans can be mixed with other seeds and grains to create soaked or cooked feed. This will be readily accepted by animals accustomed to such food.
Sprouted food can also be made from mung beans. These seeds are therefore found in many sprouted food mixes available from specialist retailers. They are extremely healthy for birds, but their high protein content can encourage breeding.
