Racing pigeon feed
One Feed for Each Season
Pigeon feed is not based on taste, but on the calendar. A pigeon in the breeding season needs different proportions of protein, fat, and carbohydrates than the same pigeon in the racing season or during moulting. Anyone who feeds the same mix all year round is, for most of the time, missing the point.
The Mixes Throughout the Year
Breeding feed with a higher protein content for mating and rearing. Young bird feed for growing birds. Racing feed with more fat and easily available energy during the flying season, supplemented by conditioning feed before use. Moulting feed for the feather change in late summer, and All-year feed as a basic mix for quieter times.
Additions to the mix are listed under Supplementary feed for pigeons, and the full range under Pigeon feed.
