French red millet 5kg About the red millet
Yellow foxtail millet is a non-threshed single-grain feed for birds and consists of seed heads in which the seeds are still in their natural "packaging." The birds must pick the seeds individually from the head, i.e., the ear, which allows for a more natural feeding experience.
Popular food for many bird species
The small seeds of millet are a real delicacy for many bird species, including sparrows, finches, goldfinches, dunnocks, as well as ornamental birds such as budgies, cockatiels, exotic birds, and parrots.
Feeding recommendations
Foxtail millet should be offered to birds as a treat in small quantities, as it is relatively low in fat and can lead to obesity if consumed in excess.
If birds were allowed to eat large amounts of foxtail or periwinkle millet daily, they would reject other feeds and consume only the millet, which could lead to significant nutrient deficiencies. Therefore, foxtail millet should only be offered as an occasional treat.
