Duo Anti-Mite Bath Mixture 1 l
Concentrated additive for bath water for pigeons, chickens, and aviary birds. The mixture from Traseco combines diatomaceous earth and silicon dioxide with oregano extract, tea tree oil, and citric acid – ingredients that are traditionally used in poultry keeping for feather care and accompanying coop hygiene.
A bath is standard in the pigeon loft anyway: it removes dust and feather dust and encourages the birds to groom their plumage intensively. The bath mixture is simply added to the bath water.
Application and dosage
Shake well before use, then stir into the bath water.
-
For regular care: approx. 20 ml per 1 liter of bath water, twice a month
-
For increased need: approx. 40 ml per 1 liter, once a week
-
For heavy need: approx. 60 ml per 1 liter, twice a week for three weeks
According to the manufacturer, the diluted mixture can also be used for fogging cracks, joints, and areas under the nests – exactly where the red poultry mite stays during the day.
Prepare fresh bath water, offer it in the morning, and remove it after the bath so the plumage can dry by evening.

Notes
- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the label; do not exceed the dosage.
- Store in a cool place, frost-free, and out of reach of children.
- In the event of a heavy mite infestation, a bath additive alone is not enough: the red poultry mite lives in the environment, not on the bird. The effective solution is always a combination of mechanical cleaning, treatment of cracks, and – as a biological long-term solution – predatory mites in the loft.
How to identify and control a mite infestation is explained in the guide Diatomaceous Earth in the Coop. More products under mite control and cleaning & hygiene.
