When a transport box is needed

Not every transport justifies a heavy transport crate. For individual animals, for the trip to the vet, or for handing an animal over to a buyer, a box is the more practical solution: lightweight, ready to use immediately, and disposable after use – this is also an advantage from a hygiene perspective, because no crate moves back and forth between different flocks.

Transport notes

• Fully erect the box before placing the animals inside and check the bottom.
• Put a little bedding or paper on the bottom – this improves stability and absorbs moisture.
• Do not overcrowd: each animal must be able to stand upright and turn around.
• Protect from direct sun, drafts, and heat; never leave the animal in a heated vehicle.
• When shipping live animals, the requirements of the Animal Welfare Transport Regulation and the conditions of the respective shipping provider apply – check in advance.
• Intended as single-use packaging: dispose of after transport, do not reuse between flocks.
